Az egyesület létrejöttekor céljaink közt szerepelt, hogy bár alapjai és jelenlegi elnöksége budapesti kötődésű, országos hálózatot hozzunk létre. Az erre való igény nem csak bennünk volt meg, hiszen már első rendezvényünkre is népes csapat érkezett Debrecenből és Pécsről is. Ezért a második rendezvényünket Debrecenben az Ő segítségükkel szerveztük meg, melynek helyszínt a Debreceni Egyetem biztosított.

Az eseményt Kiss Benjamin, az egyesület elnöke nyitotta meg, bemutatta az egyesületet, ismertette az alapítás óta elért sikereket és jövőbeli céljainkat. Ezt követően Kocsis Beatrix előadását hallgathattuk meg „Egy szekunder metabolit génklaszter jellemzése Aspergillus nidulansban” címmel. Majd a Green Drops Farm Kft. ügyvezetője, Rácz Gréta mesélte el nekünk, hogy a család kerti tavában kezdődő akvapóniás kertészkedésből hogyan is jutottak el hazánk első komplex, professzionális hidropóniás berendezésének megalkotásáig.

Az előadásokat követően a rögtönzött csapatok egy Biotechnológus kvízen vettek részt, ahol a kérdések változatossága jól reprezentálta a biotechnológia sokszínűségét. Az ebédszünetet követően egy városi vetélkedőn mérettethették meg magukat a résztvevők, amit mivel a debreceni és budapesti szervezők együtt készítettek elő, mindenki számára tartogatott meglepetéseket.

Ezúton is szeretnénk megköszönni a Debreceni Egyetem lelkes hallgatóinak a segítséget, hogy otthont adtak második rendezvényünknek. Köszönjünk az előadóinknak, valamint mindenkinek a részvételt. Legközelebb Pécsett találkozunk április 30-án!

When the association was founded, one of our goals was to create a national network, even though its foundations and current chairmanship are based in Budapest. We were not the only ones who felt the need to do so, as a large group of people from Debrecen and Pécs came to our first event. Therefore, we organized our second event in Debrecen with their help and the venue was provided by the University of Debrecen.

The event was opened by Benjamin Kiss, the president of the association, who introduced MaBE, described the successes achieved since its foundation and our future goals. Afterwards we listened to Beatrix Kocsis' presentation entitled "Characterization of a secondary metabolite gene cluster in Aspergillus nidulans". Then, Gréta Rácz, the managing director of Green Drops Farm Ltd. told us how they went from aquaponic gardening, which started in the family's garden pond, to the creation of the first complex professional hydroponic system in Hungary.

Following the presentations, the impromptu teams took part in a Biotechnology Quiz, where the variety of questions was a good representation demonstrated the diversity of biotechnology. After the lunch break, the participants had the chance to test their skills in an urban quiz, which, as it was prepared jointly by the organizers from Debrecen and Budapest, had surprises in store for everyone.
